Women in Science at Columbia (WISC) is dedicated to the outreach, support, and advancement of women, underrepresented minorities, and their advocates in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematical graduate fields at Columbia University. We are one organization made up of two chapters – one at Morningside and one at the Medical Center. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend events on either or both campuses.

This month, WISC is talking about: Building Community. Grad school and science can be all-consuming. Building a community of support takes precious time and effort, both of which can be in short supply for a busy grad student, post-doc, or faculty member. This month, we encourage you to reach out to your fellow WISCers across Columbia.

Thank you to our sponsors at Columbia for their generous support: the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Departments of Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology, Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, Pathology and Cell Biology, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, and Statistics.
